Academy · TALENT
Our Talent & Performance programmes help organisations get the best from people: from objective recruitment and evaluation to psychological safety and trust. Grounded in behavioural science, designed for immediate application.
WHAT YOU GAIN
Remove bias from recruitment and evaluation — and make better decisions about people
Build the psychological safety that is the defining feature of high-performing teams
Create the conditions for lasting trust — grounded in a proven, science-based framework
THE CHALLENGE
Hiring managers believe they are evaluating candidates on merit. Managers believe they are assessing performance fairly. Research consistently shows otherwise: our judgements about people are systematically shaped by cognitive biases, first impressions, similarity effects and social expectations.
The consequences are significant — for talent quality, team performance, diversity and retention. These programmes address the root cause: the gap between the decisions we think we are making and the decisions we are actually making.
Recruitment bias causes organisations to miss the best candidates and favour the most familiar ones
Evaluation bias distorts performance assessments and undermines trust in the process
Low psychological safety prevents teams from raising issues, sharing ideas and performing at their best
Weak trust foundations erode collaboration, slow decisions and increase turnover
TALENT
OBJECTIVE RECRUITMENT
This module equips recruiters and hiring managers with structured interview techniques, bias-aware scoring methods and evidence-based selection tools — so that talent decisions are based on relevant criteria, not irrelevant impressions.
PSYCHOLOGICAL SAFETY
Google's Project Aristotle identified it as the single strongest predictor of team performance. This module explains what psychological safety is, why it matters, and gives leaders and team members the tools to build it deliberately in their own teams.
OBJECTIVE EVALUATION
Performance evaluation is one of the most bias-prone processes in any organisation. This module gives managers the frameworks and habits to make assessments that are fairer, more accurate and more useful for development.
BUILDING TRUST
Trust is not a feeling — it is a set of behaviours and conditions that can be cultivated intentionally. This module teaches a practical, science-grounded framework for building trust within teams, between departments and across organisational boundaries.
Decades of research in cognitive psychology make one thing clear: the human brain is not a neutral assessment instrument. It takes shortcuts, relies on patterns, and systematically favours the familiar, the confident and the similar.
This is not a flaw to be ashamed of — it is a feature of how cognition works under uncertainty. But in talent decisions, it has real costs: missed candidates, distorted evaluations, disengaged employees and homogeneous teams.
The antidote is not willpower or good intentions. It is structured process, deliberate design and the habit of evidence-based judgement— all of which are learnable.
